I love to carry around my baby’s picture with me, but what I love even more is to show his pictures to everyone who is willing to look. Every mother loves to hear the “oohs’ and “ahs” as well as the “He’s so cute!’ that often follows the viewing of a baby picture. It is not always convenient to dig in my bag for my wallet to get his pictures, so when my husband bought me a locket necklace; my prayers were answered. Of course he initially thought that the locket would contain a picture of him and me, but he quickly realized how misguided he had been when he saw me grab for the kids’ album and a pair of scissors.

Now when I converse with other moms, family members or anyone who wants to see my kids, I can quickly flip open my locket and ta-da! There they are. The fact is that locket necklaces make great gifts because they serve multiple purposes. All on its own it is a necklace and a pendant and as such, you have a piece of jewelry that you will be proud to wear all the time. Secondly, it’s your little two-picture photo album that you can easily carry around with you and not worry about damaging your photographs.

My husband still wanted our pictures in a dedicated locket necklace so I received another one for Valentines Day; the first one was a birthday gift.  So now I have two lockets with pictures in them. I still have pictures of my children in the first locket, but now I have a picture of me and one of my husband in the second one. I decide which one to wear depending on the occasion and the type of company that I will be in the presence of.
